Understanding the Control Panel

1. Making Control Panel Selections

These two buttons are used to select the

1. Sensitivity Controls
2. Main Control Panel
3. Picture Settings

Their names will automatically change dependent on the panel you are viewing thus allowing 3 different choices.

2. Sensitivity Controls

Trip Level

As movement is detected within a camera image it is displayed with a blue bar that appears from the left. The more movement the further the blue bar moves to the right. Use the slider to mark a trip point at which images will start to be recorded. See Alarm actions.

Image detection is provided using 3 separate detection engines which are selected on this panel.

Make sure the on/off is selected for the cameras you have connected to the capture card.

If excessive movement is detected adjust the master Sensitivity Level at the bottom of this panel.

EG. Non trip condition where movement is not sufficient to cause a trip

Movement
but no trip

EG. Trip condition which causes selected actions to be started such as 'save to drive'.

Trip

Detection Method provides 3 options

1. Uses edge movement detection fine
2. Uses edge movement detection course
3. Uses average block pixel value comparison

The Edge detection engine provides two outline images then compares and creates movement detection and is ideal for preventing false triggering from excessive and sudden sunshine.

Pixel comparison looks for changes in both brightness and color of a given area of the image.

You need to experiment with each engine as different ones suit different makes of camera and applications. It is essential that you use cameras with a stable field generator as offered by the the SBB Sony cameras.

Sensitivity Level

This is a Master level control that applies less or more movement sensitivity to all 4 camera inputs. Experiment with this setting for ideal results. Centre is Default, Left is high and Right is low.

3. Main Control Panel

This is the Main Control Panel and is used to make basic camera selections. This panel is always forced to appear in the event a trip condition occurs.

Capture Preview

This will display the last image captured and is constantly updated when the system is in GO mode

View Camera

Here you must select the cameras that you have connected to the Stealth Big Brother capture card. Avoid selecting cameras where no camera is physically connected as this will impair picture quality on other cameras.

Camera Options

We offer slightly different internal configurations dependent on the use of Black and White or Color cameras used. If you mix cameras then try each setting in-turn for best results.

Show Date & Time

Always ensure you have the date and time selected by checking the Show Date/Time box.

4. Picture Settings

Picture Settings.

Built into the Stealth Big Brother software is electronic manipulation of the picture to create a brightness and contrast setting that works individually for each camera input.

On faster machines it is possible to have different settings for each camera.

Your software will always work faster if you use the same make and model of camera on each input.

These settings will effect the quality of the movies or still images that you capture as the system is tripped as well as the images as they are displayed in the main window.

Experiment with these settings for best results.
