Making sure your system is Optimized for image capture

1. Capture Duration & Interval

To optimize image capture open the Hard Drive Settings.
2.  Select .JPG

JPG provides the best Image Size compression whilst BMP provides no Image compression and generates large file sizes.
3. Select JPG quality

Make sure that this is set to 70%. If you choose BMP then no compression is provided in this format and images have a very large file size.
4. Select date and time

Always select date and time stamping on images.
5. Capture Interval

To ensure that your system captures an adequate number of images each time movement is detected make sure you select a capture interval

This is measured in 100ths of a second.

Set this to 20 which means that you will capture an images every 20th of a second I.E. 5 Images will be captured every second.

6. Capture Duration

Set this period to 1 second. This means that you will get 5 snap shot images each second. If you set this any higher then movement in other cameras will not be detected and captured.
